What is Decreased Libido?
Libido refers to sexual desire. Though most people experience fluctuating libido, about 5 percent of men have decreased or low libido, according to the Endocrine Society. A man with low libido lacks the desire to practice or engage in sexual activity. There are 12 common causes of decreased libido: stress, depression, low self-esteem, alcohol or drug use, lack of sleep, medication, erectile dysfunction, hormone imbalance, menopause, health conditions, relationship trouble, and lack of time. Decreased libido can be treated by sex therapy and or medication.
